Who is Monwoo

Monwoo is a web studio founded by Miguel Monwoo, a long-time partner of Axelo. While Axelo positions itself as a fast production studio focused on Svelte and DS4, Monwoo brings its full-stack expertise, its experience and its network of senior profiles. The two companies regularly share projects, conventions and the technical team.

On the Monwoo side, Miguel has worked independently since 2011: robust business applications, fast sites, quality proven by automated E2E tests. His signature — full transparency: every 10-minute slice is documented with a screenshot.

What we do together

When a client comes with a project too large or too complex for a single studio, Axelo and Monwoo join their teams. In practice:

• Showcase sites & landing pages — Axelo leads, Monwoo supports on integration.
• Bespoke SaaS applications — Monwoo leads on the backend (Symfony, Node, PostgreSQL), Axelo on the front (SvelteKit).
• Framework migrations — jQuery/Jinja → Svelte, React/Next → SvelteKit, Vue → Svelte. Monwoo brings the multi-framework migration expertise.
• Performance audits — databases with several million rows, query optimisation, browser profiling.

Performance — real stories

A few figures from our joint projects: scaling a SaaS app from 500k to 1 billion monthly reads without touching the infrastructure, reducing a Webpack bundle by 225 KB by cleaning up lazy imports, queries on 11M rows in microseconds after targeted indexing and denormalisation work.

These are not isolated feats — it's our default way of coding.

Beyond the figures, the method: visual E2E tests — validated by the human eye on business screenshots, not only by technical assertions. Every deliverable comes with its proof of correct behaviour.

Our shared technical stack

For the projects we run together, we rely on a stack that both our teams have fully mastered:

• Frontend — Svelte 5 / SvelteKit, Tailwind 4, DS4 (our in-house design system).
• Backend — Firebase for serverless, Symfony 7 for complex business APIs, Node/Bun for fast services.
• Testing — Vitest browser mode, Playwright e2e. Coverage > 80% on critical code.
• AI — Claude Code for assisted generation, LLM integration in client apps.

We deliberately chose to keep two separate companies. Axelo stays agile, focused on short deliveries (2-4 weeks), with a modern, opinionated stack. Monwoo stays versatile, able to take on long-term projects with legacy or complex business constraints. When the two join forces, we combine strengths without losing each studio's identity.
